Q: How do I know if I have been selected to perform?
A: The list of performers will be posted on www.BurbankComedyFestival.com by July 29th, 2015.
Q: If I get accepted to the festival are my travel and meals paid for ?
A: No, If accepted you will receive two performance opportunities during the festival, one in the Mainroom and one in the Yoo Hoo Room. All Travel, Lodging and food is the sole responsibility of the performer.
Q: If I get accepted to the festival are all the shows, classes and panels paid for?
A: You will be granted access to the show in which you are performing and you will be given a Comedians Pass (COMEDIAN PASS – All Performing Comedians receive a Limited Access pass to the attend any shows, podcasts, industry panels (SEATING NOT GUARANTEED IF SHOWS ARE SOLD OUT) You must register beforehand, or pay full price on the day of. Q: How many Stand Up sets do I get?
A: If accepted you get Two 5 Minute Sets. There is a chance that Celebrity Judges votes throughout the Festival will grant you an additional performance on Saturday Night in the Best Of Fest or Second Best of the Fest Shows in the Yoo Hoo Room. See Master Schedule for Performance Dates and Times
Q: Is there a prize for coming in first place?
A: No, there is not one overall grand prize winner or prize money. However, there will be celebrity judges at each show selecting favorites to perform on the Closing Night Best of The Fest Shows in the Mainroom, and the 2nd Best of the Fest shows in the Yoo Hoo Room.
Q: I know someone involved in the Festival, can I just email them my submission?
A: No, all submission must be entered the same way via the SUBMISSION PAGE.
Q: If accepted into the festival do I get paid to perform?
A: There is no monetary compensation.
Q: Can I choose when I get to perform?
A: Producers will evaluate the submissions and assign comedians to specific shows. Consideration will be granted to comedians with out of town paid gig commitments.
Q: How much is Parking?
A: Parking is Free, and is located at Ashley Furniture or Sear 5 Story Parking Lot directly across the street from Flappers. Map of Downtown Burbank and Parking Info
Q: Do I have to be over 18 yrs old to submit?
A: No. Anyone and everyone are welcome to submit. We do allow all ages to enter the club, since we are a full restaurant and Bar. However we do suggest 18 and over for the evening shows as we cannot always control the content of what the comedians say onstage.
Q:Where do I register when I arrive?
A: Registration is available Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9am and 5pm at our Comedy Shop/Box Office located at 118 East Magnolia Blvd, Burbank, Ca. 91502 ( This office is adjacent to the club on magnolia, just up the street from the clubs main entrance and past the parking garage. Next to subway Sandwich Shop)
Q:How long is the video submission suppose to be?
A: 3 to 5 Minutes please. Producers will watch the first 3 minutes so make sure your submission starts strong!
Q: Does the festival pay for my flight, Hotel and Food?
A: All performers are responsible for their own Travel, Transportation, Food, & Lodging. Click HERE to book a hotel!
Q: If I do Sketch, Improv, and Stand Up can I submit multiple times?
A: If they are separate entities you may submit as each separate entity.
Q: Are the shows in front of industry pros that my career could benefit from?
A: Yes, there will be a plethora of industry folk attending as well as Celebrity Headliners hosting and judging the shows. Be sure to put on your best show possible. Check out the Industry Attending Page for Updates as more of them keep signing on!
Q: Can anyone perform at the open mic’s, even if not in the festival?
A: Anyone that would like to perform at the Open Mic’s are welcome.
